BIO - 2010 - DJ. NOMSTA

NOMSTA has a deep love for good music. Growing up on an eclectic palette of sounds from his uncleâs disco and classic rock records, to his teenage new wave years, witnessing the explosion and progression of electronica, it then became an addictive life-long passion to keep discovering tasteful and cutting edge music. Starting his music career at the record labels promoting the asian debut of Carl Cox (F.A.C.T.2), DJ Food Collective for Ninja Tune and "Superstar DJ" Keoki gave him the knowledge of music promotions, events production and media communications to share the music he loves with the masses. Commanding a repertoire across everything from House to Techno, Hip Hop to Nu Jazz, a typical NOMSTA set is eclectic, jazzy and essentially soulful.

Currently based in Singapore, he represents the quality dance music scene appearing at iconic events like Gilles Peterson's Worldwide Festival, Good Vibrations Festival and regular live mix-shows on taste-making Singapore FM radio station LUSH 99.5. The DJ and music promoter has promoted creÌme of the crop of artists of each genre such as house legend Roy Davis Jr., playing alongside ex-Portishead DJ Andy Smith, Boca 45, Spiritual South & Mad Mats of Raw Fusion, dance-jazz maestros Zero dB and Frank de JoJo, currently bassist for Blackstrobe DJ Siskid and Australia's top DJ Kid Kenobi. NOMSTA has a penchant for and pleasures in working with live elements, including Strictly Rhythm vocalist Heather Wildman and a DJ-MC partnership in 2009 with MC Shureshock of Sydney.
